EMASS Softball Players of the Day for April 30th
Players of the Day for Thursday, April 30, 2009.
Kelly Naegelin (pictured above) spun a five inning perfect game in the circle to go along with 12 strikeouts to lead Cohasset to a (15-0) whitewashing of South Shore League opponent Norwell.
Taunton's Brittney Furtado (grand slam, 8 RBI's) powered the Tigers over Barnstable (17-1) in an Old Colony League mismatch.
Amber White (9 K's, unbeaten on the year) spun a gem as Middleboro smashed Patriot League foe Randolph (16-1).
Wesport's Kara Lewis (shutout, 2-hitter, 12 K's) was unhittable in the Wildcats (2-0) nail biter over Tri-County in a Mayflower League tilt.
Freshman Sarah Ropiak (7 IP, shutout, 13 K's) is sending notice in the Dual County League as Acton-Boxboro shuts out rival Lincoln-Sudbury (4-0).
Winthrop's Abby Belcher (3 hits, 3 RBI's, threw out 5-6 base stealers) supplied the offense and the defense in the Vikings (14-7) non-league win over Mt. St. Joseph.
Theresa Franey (no-hitter, 3-4, grand slam, 3 runs) did it all in leading Abington to a (10-2) pounding of Carver in a South Shore League tilt.
South Shore Voc.'s Nicolette Hutchinson (3-4, 4 RBI's) propelled the Vikings to a (12-1) Mayflower League drubbing of Chatham.
Rachel Allen recorded 15 strikeouts as Hull stormed past Mashpee (8-3) in South Shore League action.
Bishop Stang's Julie Mills (3-4, 5 runs) was part of an offensive explosion as the Spartans cruised past Martha's Vineyard in a non-league tilt.
