EMASS Softball Players of the Day for April 27th
Players of the Day for Monday, April 27, 2009.
Nicole D'Argento (no-hitter, shutout, 16 K's, 3-4, 2 HR's, 3 RBI's, 20th lifetime HR, 100th lifetime RBI, 600th career strikeout) had an OK day as Ashland defeated Medway (7-0) in a Tri-Valley League contest.
New Mission's Kia Jelley hurled a perfect game in the circle to go along with (4-5, 3 runs, 2 SB's) in the Titans (11-0) shellacking of Deerfield.
Noelle Christmas spun a 12 strikeout no-hitter to lead Plymouth South to a (4-0) non-league win over Barnstable.
Marian's Keliann Kirby (no-hitter, 7 K's) pitched a shutout as the Mustangs pasted Catholic Central foe St. Clement (15-0).
Caroline Davey pitched a five inning no-hitter to lead Martha's Vineyard to a (15-0) whitewashing of Mashpee.
Framingham's Jess Doucette (5-5, 4 RBI's) powered the Flyers to a (8-4) Bay State League win over Dedham.
Jennie Lacolla and Gina Sicuso (both 3-4, back to back HR's in the 1st and 6th inning) powered Stonham to a (9-3) drubbing of Reading in a Middlesex League battle.
Braintree's Liz DiMascio (2-hitter, 11 K's) threw another gem as the Wamps shut out Norwood (1-0) in Bay State League action.
Kara Lewis (shutout, one-hitter, 17 K's) spun a masterpiece to lead Westport to a (1-0) Mayflower League win over Blue Hills.
Hopkinton's Michelle Cooprider (pictured above) allowed two hits while striking out 14 to lead the Hillers to a (9-1) Tri-Vally League win over Medfield.
