Players of the Day for Friday, May 22, 2009.


Noelle Christmas (SO, 2-hitter, 8 K's, 2-4, 2 RBI's) was Miss Everything as Plymouth South dispatched of Plymouth North (4-0) in an Atlantic Coast League rivalry.


Norwood's Lauren Duggan (3-4, 2 HR's, 6 RBI's) powered the Mustangs to a (14-0) thrashing of fellow Bay Stater Weymouth.


Renee Santo (3 triples, 6 RBI) was the Greater Boston League star of the day as Malden crunched Cambridge (15-2).


Methuen's Sarra Bergeron spun a 4-hit nine strikeout gem as the Rangers bested Andover (7-1) in a Merrimack Valley League tilt.


Bridget Landry (3-3, double, HR, 4 RBI's) helped Dighton-Rehobth dispose of Wareham (13-1) in a South Coast Conference mismatch.


Wayland's Lynn Moschella spun a no-hit shutout as the Warriors were all over Madison Park (16-0).


Jamie Tringali (2-3, 3 RBI's) was the "O" as North Reading defeated Ipswich (6-5) to take the Cape Ann League title.


King Philip freshman Olivia Godin (3-4, 3-run HR, Grand Slam, 9 RBI's) had a career in one day as the Warriors crushed Coyle-Cassidy (15-3) in a match-up of the best of the Hockomock League vs the best of the Eastern Athletic Conference.


Candace Wallace (3-4, double, triple, HR, 6 RBI's) powered North Andover to a (12-11) decision over Lawrence in a CAL vs Merrimack Valley upset.


Harwich's Liz Thompson (3-5, 4 RBI's) was instrumental in the Rough Riders (15-0) shutout of Chatham.

Dan O'Connell (4-5, RBI) propelled Braintree to an (11-2) Bay State League upset over Walpole.


Acton-Boxboro's Trevor Larsen (3 hits, 2 doubles, 2 runs) was the offensive star in the Colonials (7-3) non-league decision over Chelmsford.


John Gavin (4 2/3 no-hit relief, WP, 2-4) supplied the bat and arm to lead Pentucket to a (8-7) victory over Melrose in a Cape Ann League vs Middlesex League tussle.


Newton North's Max Martins (2-3, 5 RBI's) powered the Tigers past crosstown rival Newton South (11-8).


Stu Porter (2-4, 4 RBI's) provided the "O" in Wellesley's (12-8) win over Tri-Valley League representative, Medfield.

Collen Kirby (pictured above) threw a 7 strikeou,t 4-hit shutout to continue Taunton's domination of Old Colony League rival Bridgewater-Raynham (6-0).


Ipswich's Krista MacKenzie (2 HR's, 4 runs, 3 RBI's) powered the Tigers to a (15-3) Cape Ann League win over Georgetown.


Kelly Gouveia (5-5, 3 RBI's) was the offensive impetus in Dartmouth's (7-2) decision over Old Colony League foe Barnstable.


Old Rochester's Lauren Galavotti (3-3, 5 RBI's) provided the "O" to lead the Bulldogs to a (14-0) thumping of South Coast Conference opponent Bourne.


Nell O'Connor was immense in the circle (3-hitter, 11 K's) to lead Harwich to a (10-3) pasting of fellow South Shore Leaguer Carver.


Marian's Madison Martines (3 HR's, triple, 15 TB, 6 RBI's) had the offensive game of the year in the Mustang's (16-1) drubbing of Cathedral in a Catholic Central matchup.

Tewksbury's Katelynn Moore spun a 3-hit shutout in the circle as the Redmen snuck by Wilmington (2-0) in an MVC vs. CAL battle.


Bellingham's C.C. Rogers hit 2 homeruns and had 4 RBI's in Bellingham's (15-8) decision over CMass' Blackstone-Millville.


Billerica's Sarah Quatieri hurled a one hit, 12 strikeout shutout to lead the Indians to a (4-0) victory in a MVC vs Commonwealth League war.

Eighth grader Ben Riordan (no-hitter Game 2, GW hit Game 1) was Mr. Everything as Holbrook swept Chatham (1-0, 9-3) in a Mayflower League double dip.


Haverhill's Taylor Robinson (2-3, run, 4 RBI's) powered the Hillies to a (9-2) thumping of Merrimack Valley League foe Tewksbury (9-2).


Jordan Jenkins hit two homeruns and drove in five runs to propel Scituate to a (12-8) decison over Whitman-Hanson in a Patriot League offensive display.

Players of the Day for Wednesday, May 20, 2009.


Sarra Bergeron (pictured above) was Miss Everything (3-hit shutout, 3-5, 3 RBI's) in Methuen's (15-0) cakewalk over fellow Merrimack Valley Conference member Chelmsford.


Ashland's Nicole D'Argento spun a 2-hitter with 13 strikeout in the circle as the Clockers slipped by Bellingham (3-1) in a Tri-Valley League nail biter.


Rae Copan (3-hit shutout, 13 K's, 2 hits) was all over the ticket as Newton North disposed of Bay State League foe Needham (14-0).


Acton-Boxboro's Lauren Murphy smashed her 13th HR of the year and drove in five runs as the Colonials bested Newton South (12-8) in a Dual County League slugfest.


Analyssa Manning struck out 15 to set a new school record as Blue Hills doubled up Southeastern (12-6) in a Mayflower League battle.


Westwood's Katie O'Brien (3-4, 5 RBI's) was the entire offense as the Wolverine's nipped Holliston (5-3) in a Tri-Valley League tilt.


Lissa Rescigno (SO, 8 K's, 3-4, HR, 3 RBI's) was the straw that stirred the drink as Masconomet is victorious over Winchester (5-0) in a non-league tussle.


Notre Dame's (Hingham) Jess Crimaldi threw a one-hit, 10 K shutout to lead the Cougars to a (6-0) victory over Plymouth South in a non-league encounter.


Lexa Inkley (5-5, 4 RBI's) provided the pop as Cape Cod Tech pounded Chatham (14-7) in a Mayflower League battle.

Bishop Feehan's Sam Dodge was the catalyst in the Shamrocks (8-4) Eastern Athletic Conference decision over Somerset.


Eric Bransfield belted 2 HR's and drove in five as Lynn English devoured Northeastern Conference foe Lynn Classical (16-0).

Tesla Castillo (5-6, 2 doubles, HR, 8 SB's) ran wild as Madison Park defeated Hyde Park (22-6) in Boston City League action.


Medford's Kim Perault (double, triple, 4 RBI's) supplied the punch as the Mustangs got the best of Malden in a Greater Boston League battle.

Matt Cook (pictured above) threw a 2-hit complete game shutout to lead Hamilton-Wenham to a (1-0) victory over Ipswich in a Cape Ann League pitcher's duel.


Dorchester's Alex Munez (2-3, 4 RBI's) propelled the Bears to a (10-3) pasting of Boston City League foe Burke.


Trevor Larsen (3-3, 2 runs, 2 RBI's) helped power Acton-Boxboro to a (11-1) decision over Bedford in a Dual County League tilt.


Lawrence's Juan Ventura (4-5, double, 2 HR's, 6 RBI's) aced the offense as he lead the Lancers to a (12-4) Merrimack Valley League win over Billerica.


Ben Church pitched a complete game, 9 strikeout 2-hitter as Old Rochester doubled up Bourne (4-2) in a South Coast Conference battle.


Bridgewater-Raynham's Greg Leger spun a 3-hit, 8 K shutout to pace the Trojans to an Old Colony League victory over Attleboro.


Rob McVey tossed a 15 K one-hitter to lead Tewksbury to an (8-1) Merrimack Valley Conference decision over Methuen.


Mashpee's Mike McGinnis (CG, 8 K's, 3-4, grand slam) was Mr. Everything as the Falcons snuck by South Shore League foe Cohasset (6-5).


Tommy Simas struck out a phenomonal 18 batters in St. Clement's (2-1) non-league win over Mystic Valley.

EMASS Softball Players of the Day for May 18th

Players of the Day for Monday, May 18, 2009.


Rae Copan (pictured above) spun a 15 strikeout no-hitter to lead Newton North to a (10-0) shutout of Brookline in a Bay State League whitewashing.


Ashland's Nicole D'Argento hurled a no-hitter while also striking out 10 as the Clockers continued to dominate Tri-Valley League opponents in a (15-0) win over Medway.


Liz DiMascio (3-hits, 17 K's) dominated the circle to lead Braintree to a (1-0) Bay State League win over Framingham in a classic pitcher's duel.


Georgetown's Sarah Erlandson (CG, shut out, one-hitter, (5-2-3-4)) was immense in the circle and at the plate as the Royals clobbered Rockport (13-0) in Cape Ann League action.


Kiara Amos pitched a 10 strikeout, complete game shutout to propel Malden to a (1-0) win over Medford in a Greater Boston League tussle.


Danver's Logan Carabello (4-3-4-1) and Gabby Vega (5-1-4-5) powered the Falcons to a (12-2) Northeastern Conference decision over Saugus.


Danielle Medeiros (3-3, 8 RBI's) was the catalyst in Case's (20-1) victory over Bourne in a South Coast Conference mismatch.


Cohasset's Kelly Naeglin threw a 14 K, complete game 2-hit shutout as the Skippers shut down Norwell (4-0) in a South Shore League tilt.


Sarah Triplett (3-4, double, Grand slam, 6 RBI's) accounted for half of Sandwich's runs in a (12-2) win over Barnstable.


Billerica's Sara Quatieri spun a one-hit shutout to lead the Indians to a (6-0) decision over Merrimack Valley Conference foe Lawrence.

Ryan Sifferlen (pictured above) had a monster offensive day (6-6, 3 runs, 4 RBI's) in North Andover's (13-2) non-league win over Whittier.


Quincy's Sean Gray had 3 hits and 6 runs batted it to propel the Presidents to a (14-9) victory over Brighton (14-9) in a non-league slugfest.


Jeff Rowan spun a 10 strikeout, 5-hitter to lead BC High to a (3-1) win over Central Massachusetts' Holy Name.


Gloucester's Mark Alves provided the pop (2 HR, 5 RBI's) to lead the Fisherman to a (10-6) decison over Swampscott in Northeastern Conference action.


Casey Sweeney hurled a complete game two-hitter to pace Dracut to a (2-1) Merrimack Valley Conference victory over Tewksbury.


Lexington's Will Marcel threw a complete game to go along with 11 strikeouts to propel the Minutemen to a (6-3) Middlesex League win over Burlington.


Ian Bonner spun a complete game, 12 K gem to lead Wayland to a (6-2) decsion over Tyngsboro in a Dual County League matchup.


Mansfield's Joe Swindells struck out 13 in a complete game shut out of Oliver Ames (3-0) in a Hockomock League whitewashing.


Brett Ferrell (6IP, 8 K's, HR, 2 RBI's) was Mr. Everything as Natick disposed of Dedham (7-4) in Bay State League action.


Westford Academy's Alex Haines (3 hits, 2 HR, 4 RBI's) provided the "O" in the Grey Ghosts (16-5) drubbing of Dual County League rival Newton South.
