EMASS Baseball Players of the Day for May 16th
Players of the Day for Saturday, May 16, 2009.
Jake Cintolo (pictured above) provided the power (3-4, 5 RBI's) to lead King Philip to a doubleheader sweep (9-6, 14-4) of Foxboro in Hockomock League action.
Brockton's Nick Fedor (hit for the cycle, Grand slam, 6 RBI's) and Chris Pittman (Grand slam, 3 hits, 5 RBI's) supplied the pop as the Boxers routed Big 3 foe Durfee (18-3).
Carl Anderson (4-5, RBI) kept the Lincoln-Sudbury train on the tracks in a (11-8) Dual County League win over Waltham.
West Bridgewater's James Pike fired a one hit shutout as the Wildcats whitewashed Mayflower League rival Upper Cape (6-0).
Andrew McAteer spun a one-hit, 4 strikeout shutout to propel Barnstable to a (2-0) Old Colony League decision over Taunton.
Marblehead's Eric Steen (CG, 8 K's) pitched a gem as the Magicians defeated Northeastern Conference colleague Winthrop (2-0).
Sophomore Jordan Jenkins threw a one-hit shutout to lead Scituate to a (5-0) Patriot League victory over Whitman-Hanson.
Coyle-Cassidy's Andy Lalli and Chad Houghton (2 hits, 3 RBI's each) supplied the pop as the Warriors crushed Apponequet (15-3) in a non-league tilt.
Tyler McVicar (3-4, 4 RBI's) propelled Malden Catholic to a (10-3) drubbing of Cambridge in a non-league affair.
Pembroke's Matt McCartney (7 IP, 7 K's, 2 RBI's) was the catalsyt that lead the Titans to a (3-1) win over non-league for Nantucket.
