EMASS Baseball Players of the Day for April 25th
Players of the Day for Saturday, April 25, 2009.
Shawn Carlson (pictured above) hurled a complete game, 10 strikeout 3-hitter to lead Andover to a (9-2) pasting of Tewksbury in MVC action.
Dartmouth's Dennis Medeiros (6 IP, 4 hits, 7 K's) propelled the Indians over Old Colony League rival Taunton (12-4).
Connor Buckley (3-run HR, 4 RBI's) powered Acton-Boxboro to a (7-6) nail biter over Lowell.
Chris Pittman of Brockton hit a grand slam with 2 outs in the 7th inning to lead the Boxers to a sweep of their doubleheader against Plymouth North.
Fairhaven's Keane Costa (4 hits, 2 doubles, 5 RBI's) provided the offense as the Blue Devils took the second game of the doubleheader (13-12) over Coyle-Cassidy.
Andrew Chandler (4 hits, 4 runs) supplied the punch in pacing Westford Academy to a (10-) non-league win over Chelmsford.
Holliston's Corey Ciarcello (win, 3 K's, 4-5, 3 runs, 2 RBI's) helped on the mound and at the plate as the Panthers throttled Sharon (21-2).
Josh Rebello (CG, 2-hitter, 4 hits, 3 RBI's) was the star as New Bedford pounded CMass Hudson (18-1).
Newburyport's DJ Grabowski pitched a complete game with five strikeouts while also going (2-3) at the dish as the Clippers pounded Manchester-Essex (17-0) in CAL action.
Tommy Simas hurled a 2-hitter while striking out 10 to lead St. Clement to a (5-0) win over Pope John in Catholic Central action.
Lincoln-Sudbury's Billy Bereszniewicz (3-3, 3 doubles, 3 RBI's) powered the Indians over Newton South (14-2) in a non-league mismatch.
Jared Rogers (3-run HR, 5 RBI's) supplied the punch in leading Malden to a (17-4) dismantling of GBL for Somerville.
