EMASS Softball Players of the Day for May 11th

Players of the Day for Monday, May 11, 2009.


Casey Ducinski (pictured above) struck out 15 while pitching a complete game in the circle as Duxbury defeated Patriot League rival Scituate (5-1).


Weston's Olivia Piccione (4-5, double, triple, 9 RBI's) wasan offensive juggernaut as the Wildcats took care of Dual County League foe Tyngsboro (14-6).


Freshman Kayla Maloney had an eye opening debut as she struck out 13 in Central Catholic's (8-2) win over Lawrence in a Merrimack Valley League tilt.


Lexington's Kiki Saveriano (shutout, 2-hitter, 13 K's) and Alicia DiFronzo (3-3, triple, 2 RBI's) powered the Lady Minutemen past Middlesex League rival Reading (6-0).


Courtney Finn (4-4, HR, 4 runs, 4 RBI's) produced half of Winthrop's runs as they defeated Northeastern Conference opponent Gloucester (14-2).


Archbishop Williams' Erica and Alex Knowles (9-10, 2 HR's, 6 RBI's) supplied the pop as the Bishop's were victorious over Cathedral (24-4) in a non-league affair.


Liz DiMascio fired a one-hit, 12 strikeout shutout to lead Braintree to a (1-0) whitewashing of Wellesley in a Bay State League pitcher's duel.


Marian and Brandeis bound Keliann Kirby spun a 2-hit, 15 K shutout as the Mustangs were victorious over Catholic Central Conference foe, (19-0).


Adria Kotsiopoulos (CG, shutout, 11 K's, 3-4, 2 doubles) lead West Bridgewater to a (2-0) Mayflower League win over Blue Hills.


Milton's Brenna Callahan (W, 4-hitter, 4-4, 2 RBI's) was the offense and the arm as the Wildcats took care of businness in the Bay State League with a (13-2) defeat of Needham.
