EMASS Softball Players of the Day for April 20th
Players of the Day for Monday, April 20, 2009.
Keliann Kirby twirled a 17 strikeout, zero walk, no-hit shutout as Marian pounded Pope John (12-0) in a Catholic Central mismatch.
Methuen's Sarra Bergeron (pictured above) took a no-hitter in to the 7th inning (1-hit, shutout) as the Rangers whitewashed Triton (4-0).
Casey Ducinski pitched a nine strikeout no-hitter in the circle to lead Duxbury past Abington (8-1) in a non-league tilt.
Winthrop's Courtney Finn (2 HR's, double, 2 BB, 4 RBI's) lead the onslaught as the Vikings pounded Archbishop Williams (21-6).
Amber White pitched another no-hitter to go along with nine strikeouts to lead Middleboro past neighbor Carver (10-1).
Barnstable's Lindsay Grover (4-4, 3 RBI's, CG, shutout) provided the arm and the stick as the Red Raiders dismantled Dennis-Yarmouth (17-0).
Joelle Zahka (4-4, HR, triple, 4 RBI's) powered Lexington past Reading in a Middlesex League tussle.
Malden's Kiara Amos twirled a complete game, eleven strikeout, 2-hit shutout to lead the Golden Tornadoes to a (7-0) blanking of Greater Boston League for Somerville.
Audrey Dolloff (CG, 3-hitter, 10K's) lead the battle of Andover as the Golden warriors defeated North Andover (14-3) in a non-league pasting.
Tyngsboro's Mel Freitas (3 hits, Grand Slam, 3 runs, 6 RBI's) supplied the power as the Tigers crushed Notre Dame of Tyngsboro (15-6).
