EMASS Softball Players of the Day for May 8th

Players of the Day for Friday, May 8, 2009.


Liz DiMascio (pictured above) spun a one-hit, 13 strikeout gem in the circle as Braintree snuck by fellow Bay Stater Newton North (1-0).


Georgetown's Sarah Erlandson (4-hitter, 12 K's, 2-4) supplied the arm and bat to lead the Royals to a (6-5) squeaker over Cape Ann League foe, Wilmington.


Lauren Murphy (3-hitter, 14 K's) propelled Acton-Boxboro to a (7-3) Dual County League win over Weston.


Avon's Maggie Hoffman fired a no-hitter as the Panthers defeated Southeastern (7-0) in game 2 of a Mayflower League battle.


Alicia Briggs (WP, 4-hitter, 1-3, 2 RBI's) was the catalyst in leading Haverhill to a (3-2) Merrimack Valley Conference win over Lawrence.


Silver Lake's Kelly Heath hurled a 5 inning, six strikeout no-hitter to lead the Lakers to a (17-0) Patriot League drubbing of Hingham.


Nicole Eisenmann (5-hit shutout, 2-run HR) provided the spark as East Bridgewater whitewashed Cohasset (5-0) in a South Shore League tilt.


Wellesley's Rebecca DiBiase struck out 12 Marauders as the Raiders bested Dedham (6-3) in Bay State League action.


Michelle St. Cyr and Diana Sutherland were both (4-5, 3 runs, 2 RBI's) and the tandem powered Waltham to a (14-5) shellacking of Dual County League foe, Arlington.


Middleboro's Amber White spun a one-hit shutout as the Sachems stomped on fellow Patriot Leaguer Randoplh (11-0).
