The Lexington girls softball team is on roll. The fact that that they are the defending D1 State Champions only adds to the drama and media swirl they are about to enter. Yesterday the Minuteman girls defeated Wakefield (2-0) behind Kiki Saveriano (CG, 2-hitter, 16 K's, 2-3, 1B, 3B, RBI) who, along with SS Alecia DiFronzo, hit back-to-back triples in the 6th inning to break the scoreless tie.
The UConn bound senior Kiki Saveriano, who had an incredible 24 Division 1 scholarship offers before electing to head to Storrs, and her Minuteman teammates have kept their opponents off the scoreboard since the first round of the EMASS North first round tourney game against Chelmsford on June 1, 2008. That's not a missprint, 2008. Included are four no-hitters.
