EMASS Softball Players of the Day for April 15th
Players of the Day for Wednesday, April 15, 2009.
Jamie Block (pictured above) hurled a no-hitter with 8 strikeouts in the circle as Pembroke defeated Scituate (1-0) in a Patriot League pitcher's duel.
Wellesley's Rebecca DiBiase threw a no-no as the Raiders demolished Needham (15-0) in Bay State League action. In a side note, I believe that Needham has lost 4 games this year all by the same score (15-0). What are the odds of that?
Jessica Nye twirled a 14 strikeout no-hitter as Old Rochester nipped Greater New Bedford Voc. (2-1) in South Coast Conference action.
Braintree's Liz DiMascio (CG, 13K, one-hitter) was all business as the Wamps overpowered Milton (5-1) in a Bay State League tilt.
Georgia Guttaduaro (3-3, 3 runs, 4 RBI) powered Concord-Carlisle past Westford Academy (19-4) in a Dual County League affair.
Blue Hill's Analyssa Manning (1-hiiter, 13 K's) dominated the circle as the Warriors defeated Norfolk Aggie (5-1) in a Mayflower League tilt.
Liz Habib had 12 strikeouts while hurling a seven hitter as Central Catholic edged Billerica (3-2) in a MVC battle.
Lynn English's Cara Crowley (4-6, 2B, 4 runs, RBI) was part of the offensive onslaught as the Bulldogs slammed Revere (15-7).
Kiki Saveriano (5IP, CG, 12 K's, 2-4, 3 RBI's) provided much of the punch as Lexington throttled Winchester (19-0) in a Middlesex League mismatch.
Ashland's Nicole D'Argento (1-hitter, 18 K's, 3-4, 2B, 3 RBI's) supplied the arm and bat as the Clockers destroyed Hopkinton (13-0) in a Tri-Valley League debacle.
