Behind Richard Rodgers 28 points, St. John's of Shrewsbury defeated Lynn English (80-62) to not only capture the D1 Boys State Title but also fianlly win a title for a non EMASS team. EMASS had been (5-0) in the state championships before the Pioneers win.
