According to MIAA spokesman, Paul Wetzel, the attendance for the EMASS finals at the TD Banknorth Garden in Boston and the State finals at the DCU Center in Worcester were as follows;
EMASS Girls @ the TD Banknorth Garden on Monday, March 9--4,000 fans
EMASS Boys @ the TD Banknorth Garden on Tuesday, March 10--9,000 fans
State Finals @ DCU Center in Worcester on Saturday, March 14--11,500 fans.
In case you were looking for comparisons, the EMASS girls drew 6,000 in 2008 (last year) to the TD Banknorth Garden, which means there was a 33% dropoff in attendance (6,000--4,000).
The EMASS boys final drew almost identical numbers from 2008 to 2009 (9,000 fans).
The State Finals at the DCU Center has had a high of 17,000 to a low of 7,500. This year falls on the slightly below average category.
