BEANOS AND FRANCOS

  • EVERY TEAM IN EMASS HAS TRAILED AT ONE POINT DURING THE GAME. THAT'S RIGHT EVEN THE TEAMS THAT ARE UNDEFEATED HAVE BEEN BEHIND AT LEAST ONCE DURING THE COURSE OF A GAME.

  • #1 EVERETT DROPPED ITS NATIONAL RANKING FROM #261 TO #376 THIS WEEK WITH A 27 POINT WIN OVER MEDFORD. HARD TO BELIEVE THAT YOU CAN WIN BY 27 AND GO DOWN. NEXT UP #9992 SOMERVILLE.

  • WMASS POWER LONGMEADOW (8-0), OWNER OF A 45 GAME WINNING STREAK AND AVERAGING 45.1 POINTS PER GAME, WAS HELD TO ITS LOWEST POINT TOTAL OF THE YEAR (24) BY (EMASS D2) STOUGHTON (3-5) BLACK KNIGHTS. STOUGHTON WAS ALSO THE ONLY TEAM TO HAVE HELD LONGMEADOW SCORELESS IN THE 2ND HALF OF ANY GAME.

  • SINCE 2003, #9 MANSFIELD IS (61-4) WITH A .938 WINNING PERCENTAGE INCLUDING THE PLAYOFFS. FOR THOSE OF YOU LOOKING AHEAD TO THIS WEEK'S HOCKOMOCK LEAGUE SHOWDOWN TAKE NOTE, MANSFIELD IS PLAYING AT NORTH ATTLEBORO. YOU ASK WHAT IS SO SPECIAL ABOUT THAT...HERE IT IS...MANSFIELD HAS NOT LOST A LEAGUE ROAD GAME SINCE 2000. THEY ARE AN UNBELIEVABLE (32-0)!!! BUT HOLD ON, THEIR LAST ROAD LOSS WAS TO...YOU GUESSED IT...NORTH ATTLEBORO.

  • #17 ST JOHN'S PREP (4-4) HAS THE HIGHEST OPPONENTS WIN TOTAL AND WINNING PERCENTAGE AT (47-16) OR .746 OF ANY TEAM IN EMASS. MASCONOMET, BURLINGTON, WOBURN AND WHITMAN-HANSON ARE ALL NEXT WITH 42 OPPONENTS WINS.

  • JUSTIN MELLO OF #8 DARTMOUTH (8-0) HAS SCORED 13 TOUCHDOWNS THIS YEAR FOR THE INDIANS. REMARKABLY, 8 OF THOSE 13 HAVE PUT THE INDIANS AHEAD IN THE GAME AND 1 HAS TIED A GAME. IF YOU ARE PLAYING DARTMOUTH AND THE GAME IS CLOSE WATCH OUT FOR MR MELLO.

Great job here. I am enjoying reading your banterings. FYI As far as the long/stoughton game, it was the first game for both teams. Longmeadow graduated a ton of starters from the year before. At this point, their starting line up has changed considrably. The Stoughton game was over by half. And Longmeadow played several of their second string. On Stoughton's first score (a long pass), their were a couple new players subbed into the game to gain experience. And then, nearly the entire second offense went in for some of the third quarter and the ENTIRE 4th quarter. Stoughton scored second TD on JV defense. Bottom line, Stoughton played tough til the end. Longmeadow eased up and made this a lot closer than it probably should have been.

THANKS FOR YOUR SUPPORT. GLAD TO SEE SOME WMASS SUPPORTERS READING THIS AS WELL. IN THE FUTURE I WOULD LIKE TO INCORPORATE WMASS AND CMASS IN BOTH FOOTBALL AND BASKETBALL.

I MUST SAY THOUGH, MASSLIVE DOES A GREAT JOB WITH WMASS HIGH SCHOOL SPORTS.
