New Bedford last played in the World Series in 1978.

The New Bedford 14 year old Pony League All-Stars beat Chesterfield,Va 10-6 at Walkers Playground, Brockton, to win the Pony East Zones and advance to the 2009 Pony World Series in Washington, PA.
